Banana Nut Chocolate Chip Bread

This bread uses two types of flour, bananas, walnuts, and chocolate chips. Make it for family, make it for friends; this banana but chocolate chip bread will disappear quickly.


  • ½ cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  •  1 teaspoon cinnamon
  •  2 Eggs
  •  1 cup brown sugar
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Milk
  • ½ cup butter
  •  Canola oil
  •  4 ripe bananas
  •  1 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


  1. Combine whole wheat pastry flour with all-purpose flour
  2. Add baking soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the flour mix
  3. Whisk all the dry ingredients together
  4. In separate bowl, add eggs, brown sugar, vanilla extract, milk, melted butter, canola oil
  5. Whisk all wet ingredients together
  6. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, mix together
  7. Add bananas, walnuts, and chocolate chips to mixture
  8. Place in bread pan, bake at 375 for 1 hour and 10 minutes
